Hurricane Sandy Brooklyn NYC

New York City during Hurricane Sandy. A few people trespassed into the closed Brooklyn Promenade, which overlooks Brooklyn Bridge Park and the NYC skyline, to view what a hurricane looks like in New York City. Hurricane Sandy brought flooding and strong winds to NYC. Many areas were evacuated and there was flooding in Brooklyn, Lower Manhattan, and throughout the city and eastern seaboard. These NYC photography images were taken during the hurricane when there was brief moments of calm in between the high winds as the hurricane touched ground in New Jersey. Shortly after this photo was taken, the winds picked up, and the flooding got even worse.
